⏳ wine.drinking_window

Typically best enjoyed 8 to 20 years from the vintage release, as its robust structure and intense concentration allow it to age gracefully, developing complex tertiary notes of tobacco, leather, and dried fig over time.

🍽️ wine.food_pairings

Slow-braised beef cheeks, mature cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano, and hearty game dishes such as roasted wild boar.

✨ wine.spec_sheet

Hailing from the sun-drenched, sunset-facing slopes ('costasera') of the Valpolicella Classica region in Veneto, Italy, Costasera is a legendary expression of Amarone. The name itself pays homage to these privileged hillside vineyards that benefit from the late afternoon sun and the tempering breezes of nearby Lake Garda. Crafted using the ancient 'appassimento' method, the grapes—primarily Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara—are carefully harvested and laid to rest on traditional bamboo racks throughout the dry winter months. This natural dehydration process concentrates the sugars, acids, and aromatics, resulting in an incredibly rich, complex, and full-bodied red wine. Following a slow fermentation, the wine is aged in noble oak casks, developing its signature profile of dark dried fruits, cocoa, and warm spices, deeply rooted in the winemaking heritage of the Veneto.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Tracing its winemaking heritage back to 1385 when Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Florentine Winemakers' Guild, Marchesi Antinori has been shaped by twenty-six generations of family leadership. Headquartered in the heart of Chianti Classico, the family has expanded its portfolio across prestigious estates in Tuscany, Umbria, and beyond, driven by a philosophy that balances deep historical respect with bold innovation. Antinori famously pioneered the "Super Tuscan" movement in the 1970s, introducing revolutionary French oak aging and international varieties to create iconic labels like Tignanello and Solaia. Today, their diverse portfolio spans from the elegant Sangiovese of Badia a Passignano to the acclaimed white blend Cervaro della Sala, cementing their legacy as global ambassadors of Italian fine wine.
