✨ wine.spec_sheet

Pèppoli is a benchmark Chianti Classico produced by the legendary Antinori family, whose winemaking heritage in Tuscany dates back to 1385. The Pèppoli estate, located in the heart of the appellation, was acquired by Antinori in 1985 to mark the centenary of their active wine commerce. The vineyards sit in a unique, well-sheltered valley rich in mineral-bearing marl soils, which impart a distinct savory complexity to the grapes. Crafted primarily from Sangiovese, complemented by small portions of Syrah and Merlot, the wine is intentionally styled to emphasize vibrant fruit and accessibility. It undergoes aging in large Slavonian oak casks, alongside a small fraction in stainless steel and barriques, preserving its bright cherry notes, violet aromas, and lively acidity while softening the tannins.

Tracing its winemaking heritage back to 1385 when Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Florentine Winemakers' Guild, Marchesi Antinori has been shaped by twenty-six generations of family leadership. Headquartered in the heart of Chianti Classico, the family has expanded its portfolio across prestigious estates in Tuscany, Umbria, and beyond, driven by a philosophy that balances deep historical respect with bold innovation. Antinori famously pioneered the "Super Tuscan" movement in the 1970s, introducing revolutionary French oak aging and international varieties to create iconic labels like Tignanello and Solaia. Today, their diverse portfolio spans from the elegant Sangiovese of Badia a Passignano to the acclaimed white blend Cervaro della Sala, cementing their legacy as global ambassadors of Italian fine wine.
