✨ Technical Specifications
Sourced from sustainably cultivated Rheingau hillside vineyards rich in loess, loam, and quartzite, this dry-styled Riesling highlights pure fruit vibrancy and mineral clarity. Vinification occurs entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using gentle pressing and cool fermentation to preserve spontaneous aromatics, followed by brief maturation on fine lees to round the crystalline acidity.
🍾 About the Producer
Established in 1924, Weingut August Kesseler was transformed into one of the Rheingau's most celebrated benchmarks after August Kesseler took over the modest 2.5-hectare family estate in 1977 at just nineteen years old. Situated in the picturesque enclave of Assmannshausen within the UNESCO-designated Upper Middle Rhine Valley, the estate now cultivates approximately 33 to 40 hectares. The terroir is celebrated for its dramatic, precipitous terraces where heat-retentive slate and Taunus quartzite soils converge under a tempered river microclimate. Long famed for sparking Germany's modern Spätburgunder renaissance, Kesseler crafts equally profound, terroir-driven Rieslings. Winemaking is executed in historic double-tiered rock cellars dating to 1792, where ambient coolness permits precise, low-intervention fermentations that prize tension, depth, and mineral poise over excess weight. In addition to iconic VDP.Grosse Lage bottlings from the Assmannshäuser Höllenberg and Rüdesheimer Berg Schlossberg, the estate's accessible 'The Daily August' series introduces its hallmark crystalline purity and vibrant acidity to global palates.
