Escudo Rojo, meaning 'Red Shield' in Spanish, is a direct translation of the Rothschild family's historic name, symbolizing their deep-rooted winemaking legacy brought to the exceptional terroirs of Chile. This Chardonnay Reserva is sourced from select vineyards in the cool-climate zones of Chile's Central Valley, where morning mists and maritime breezes allow the grapes to ripen slowly, preserving their natural acidity. The winemaking team combines traditional French savoir-faire with New World fruit expression, fermenting a portion of the blend in French oak barrels to impart subtle notes of vanilla and toasted brioche, while the remainder is vinified in stainless steel to maintain vibrant tropical fruit and citrus aromas.
