Hailing from the legendary Hudson Vineyard in the cool, wind-swept Carneros region of Napa Valley, this wine is a masterclass in Northern Rhône-inspired California winemaking. Planted by pioneer Lee Hudson, the vineyard's volcanic loam and clay soils, combined with maritime breezes from the San Pablo Bay, yield Syrah of remarkable depth and savory complexity. Bedrock Wine Co. pays homage to the classic traditions of Côte-Rôtie by co-fermenting the Syrah with a small percentage of Viognier. This ancient technique not only stabilizes the deep color of the wine but also coaxes out exotic aromatic lifts of violet, white pepper, and stone fruit. Crafted with native yeasts, a thoughtful portion of whole clusters for structural tension, and aged in French oak barrels with minimal new wood, this cuvée beautifully balances dark, brooding fruit with wild game, olive tapenade, and floral elegance.
