Hailing from the steep, rocky slopes of the Weill a Way Vineyard in Sonoma Valley, Bedrock Wine Co.'s 'Exposition Two' Syrah is part of a fascinating terroir study curated by winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson MW. This series explores how distinct slope exposures and clonal selections within a single vineyard shape the final wine. Exposition Two is crafted from a specific parcel that yields a remarkably complex, Northern Rhône-style Syrah. Utilizing traditional, low-intervention winemaking techniques—including partial whole-cluster fermentation to enhance aromatic lift and structural grip—the wine is aged in French oak barrels with a minimal percentage of new wood. The result is a savory, deeply concentrated red that beautifully balances dark mountain fruit with notes of cracked black pepper, olive tapenade, and smoked meats, paying homage to the historic potential of California Syrah.
