Sourced from the prestigious Bancroft Ranch vineyard, situated high atop the rugged slopes of Howell Mountain in Napa Valley, this Cabernet Franc is a testament to mountain viticulture. Acquired by Beringer in the 1980s, the vineyard's white volcanic ash soils and high elevation—sitting well above the valley fog line—force the vines to struggle, resulting in small, intensely concentrated berries. Historically, Beringer's exploration of Howell Mountain terroir helped define the rugged, structured style of the region's reds.
