Beringer Vineyards, established in 1876 by brothers Jacob and Frederick Beringer, stands as one of California's most historic winemaking estates. For this expressive single-vineyard bottling, Beringer sources fruit from the rugged terrain of Knights Valley in Sonoma County. The Blackrock Vineyard is named for its dramatic, obsidian-strewn volcanic soils, a legacy of ancient eruptions from nearby Mount St. Helena. This unique terroir, characterized by excellent drainage and intense heat retention from the dark rocks, provides the perfect crucible for Petite Sirah. The wine is celebrated for its ink-dark color, formidable structure, and rich flavor profile. Traditionally aged in a combination of French and American oak, it showcases intense aromas of blackberry liqueur, black pepper, cocoa, and earthy minerals, representing a masterful marriage of historic winemaking expertise and wild, volcanic terroir.

Beringer Vineyards blev grundlagt i 1876 af brødrene Jacob og Frederick Beringer og er i dag Californiens ældste kontinuerligt fungerende vinhus, beliggende i hjertet af St. Helena i Napa Valley. Som pionerer inden for tidlig vinproduktion i Napa udhuggede Beringer-brødrene kalkstensgrotter med håndkraft og etablerede kældre baseret på tyngdekraftsprincippet for at skabe raffinerede og lagringsværdige vine.
