Crafted as a tribute to the legendary winemaker Ed Sbragia, who defined the bold, opulent style of California Chardonnay during his decades-long tenure at Beringer, this Limited-Release Chardonnay is a masterclass in rich, barrel-fermented white wine. Sourced primarily from the exceptional terroir of the Gamble Ranch in Oakville, Napa Valley, the grapes benefit from warm daytime temperatures tempered by cool evening breezes and morning fog. This climate allows the Chardonnay grapes to achieve optimal ripeness while maintaining essential acidity. In the cellar, the wine undergoes traditional barrel fermentation in French oak barrels, followed by complete malolactic fermentation and extensive sur lie aging with regular stirring. This meticulous process imparts a signature creamy texture, complex notes of toasted brioche, hazelnut, and vanilla, beautifully integrated with lush tropical fruit and ripe pear flavors.
