✨ Technical Specifications

Beringer's State Lane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon represents a historic chapter in Napa Valley's viticultural lore. Located in the Yountville AVA, the State Lane Vineyard was originally planted in the mid-20th century and became legendary under Beringer's stewardship during the late 1970s and 1980s. The vineyard's gravelly, alluvial soils on the valley floor yielded grapes of exceptional concentration and structural integrity. Beringer crafted this single-vineyard Cabernet with traditional long maceration and extensive aging in French oak barrels. The resulting wine is celebrated for its classic Napa profile: deep blackberry and cassis fruit interwoven with complex notes of dried herbs, cedar, and a signature dusty loam minerality. Though Beringer no longer produces wine from this site—which was later acquired and replanted by the Kapcsandy family—historic vintages of Beringer State Lane remain highly prized by collectors as benchmarks of traditional Napa Valley winemaking.

🍾 About the Producer

Established in 1876 by brothers Jacob and Frederick Beringer, Beringer Vineyards holds the distinction of being California's oldest continuously operating winery, situated in the heart of St. Helena in Napa Valley. Pioneers of early Napa winemaking, the Beringer brothers engineered hand-dug limestone caves and gravity-fed cellars to craft refined, ageworthy wines. Today, owned by Treasury Wine Estates, the historic estate maintains an uncompromising dedication to site-specific viticulture across prime Napa Valley and Knights Valley terroirs. Beringer is internationally celebrated for its flagship Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, alongside complex single-vineyard expressions and botrytized dessert wines like Nightingale.
