Weingut Bernhart's Schweigen Kalkmergel Sauvignon Blanc is a brilliant testament to the estate's unique cross-border terroir in the southern Pfalz, right along the French Alsace boundary. Grown on the historic limestone marl (Kalkmergel) soils of Schweigen, this wine benefits from a microclimate shaped by the nearby Vosges Mountains. Unlike the highly herbaceous styles of the Southern Hemisphere, Bernhart's Sauvignon Blanc leans into a more structured, European elegance. The limestone soils impart a profound mineral tension, flinty complexity, and a fine-grained texture, while the warm days and cool nights of the Pfalz preserve a vibrant, crisp acidity. Hand-harvested and gently vinified, this wine beautifully marries ripe stone fruit and cassis aromas with a deep, stony backbone, reflecting the ancient geological heritage of this borderland.

Weingut Bernhart ligger i Schweigen-Rechtenbach ved Pfalz' sydligste spids klos op ad den franske grænse. Det anerkendte familiedomæne er berømt for elegant at forene tyske og alsassiske vindyrkningstraditioner. Vingården ledes af Gerd Bernhart, som har været medlem af det prestigefyldte VDP siden 2004, og her skabes udtryksfulde, terroir-præcise vine fra historiske parceller, der strækker sig på tværs af landegrænsen, såsom Schweigener Sonnenberg.
