Hailing from the historic border town of Schweigen-Rechtenbach, where the vineyards seamlessly cross the frontier between Germany's Pfalz and France's Alsace, this Weissburgunder is a liquid testament to a shared European heritage. Grown on the region's prized Kalkmergel (limestone marl) soils, the vines draw deep mineral complexity from ancient marine deposits. The Bernhart family coaxes out the grape's natural elegance through gentle pressing and a combination of stainless steel fermentation and maturation in traditional large oak casks. This dual aging method preserves the vibrant, crisp orchard fruit characters while imparting a subtle, creamy texture and structural depth. The result is a classic Pfalz village wine that perfectly balances refreshing acidity with a rich, mineral-driven finish, reflecting centuries of cross-border viticultural tradition.

Weingut Bernhart ligger i Schweigen-Rechtenbach ved Pfalz' sydligste spids klos op ad den franske grænse. Det anerkendte familiedomæne er berømt for elegant at forene tyske og alsassiske vindyrkningstraditioner. Vingården ledes af Gerd Bernhart, som har været medlem af det prestigefyldte VDP siden 2004, og her skabes udtryksfulde, terroir-præcise vine fra historiske parceller, der strækker sig på tværs af landegrænsen, såsom Schweigener Sonnenberg.
