Crafted by the historic Bernhart estate on the French-German border of the southern Pfalz, this Spätburgunder Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut is a sparkling wine of remarkable precision. Sourced from Pinot Noir grapes grown on the steep, limestone-rich slopes of the Schweigener Sonnenberg, the fruit is gently whole-cluster pressed immediately after harvest to prevent the extraction of red pigments from the skins. This traditional method yields a pale, straw-colored base wine that undergoes secondary bottle fermentation and extended lees aging. The resulting Sekt beautifully marries the structural power of Pinot Noir with the chalky, mineral-driven tension of the border's unique Kalkmergel soils, offering a refined mousse and a bone-dry, elegant finish.
