Hailing from the prestigious, cross-border Sonnenberg vineyard that straddles the boundary between Germany's Pfalz and France's Alsace, the 'Radling' parcel is highly prized for its ancient limestone marl (Kalkmergel) soils. This VDP.Grosses Gewächs (GG) Spätburgunder represents the pinnacle of Weingut Bernhart's red winemaking. The vines benefit from a unique microclimate where warm air from the Rhine plain meets the cooling winds of the Vosges Mountains. Hand-harvested with meticulous selection, the grapes undergo traditional skin fermentation and are aged in French oak barriques. The resulting wine is a profound expression of terroir, balancing intense dark cherry fruit with a deep, chalky minerality, fine-grained tannins, and a complex, savory structure that reflects centuries of border-region viticulture.

Weingut Bernhart ligger i Schweigen-Rechtenbach ved Pfalz' sydligste spids klos op ad den franske grænse.
