Crafted as a tribute to the driving force behind the estate, The Impetus is a spectacular proprietary red blend that showcases the pedigree of the famed Tench Vineyard in Oakville, often carrying the De Crescenzo name in honor of co-founder Victoria De Crescenzo. Situated on the eastern bench of Oakville, immediately adjacent to Screaming Eagle, the Tench Vineyard is legendary for its iron-rich, red volcanic soils and clay loam. This unique terroir imparts a distinctive mineral complexity and explosive dark fruit profile to the grapes. Winemaker Russell Bevan utilizes his signature style of meticulous vineyard selection, late harvesting for peak physiological ripeness, and aging in prime French oak to fashion a wine of monumental concentration and plush, velvety texture. Bevan Cellars was founded in 2005 by self-taught winemaker Russell Bevan, quickly ascending to cult status within California's fine wine landscape. Celebrated for an unabashedly opulent, hedonistic, and precision-driven winemaking style, Bevan partners with premier growers across premier microclimates in Napa Valley and Sonoma County.
