✨ wine.spec_sheet

The Bollinger James Bond Spectre Edition celebrates the legendary partnership between Champagne Bollinger and the world's most famous secret agent, a relationship dating back to 1973. Released to coincide with the movie 'Spectre', this exceptional cuvée is a vintage Champagne (specifically the 2009 vintage) that showcases Bollinger's signature style. Crafted primarily from Pinot Noir (68%) sourced from historic crus like Aÿ and Verzenay, and complemented by Chardonnay (32%) from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Avize, the wine was entirely fermented in older oak barrels to develop complexity and texture. It was aged for several years on its lees under natural cork closures—a rare practice today—resulting in a rich, vinous Champagne with notes of toasted brioche, ripe stone fruits, and elegant minerality, presented in a striking, high-tech chilling canister.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1829 in the historic village of Aÿ by Jacques Bollinger, Paul Renaudin, and Hennequin de Villermont, Champagne Bollinger is one of the region's most prestigious and fiercely independent family-owned houses. Renowned for its Pinot Noir-dominated blends and traditional production methods, Bollinger uniquely ferments its vintage wines in seasoned oak casks and maintains an extensive library of reserve wines aged in magnums under cork. The house's signature style is defined by its rich complexity, structure, and depth, best exemplified by legendary cuvées like Special Cuvée, La Grande Année, and the late-disgorged R.D. Additionally, Bollinger preserves a rare piece of viticultural history with its ungrafted, pre-phylloxera Pinot Noir vines used to produce the ultra-exclusive Vieilles Vignes Françaises.
