Boschendal's Appellation Series Pinot Noir is a masterful expression of cool-climate viticulture, sourced from the high-altitude, wind-swept vineyards of the Cape South Coast, particularly the cool Elgin valley. While Boschendal's heritage dates back to 1685 in Franschhoek, this contemporary series represents their journey to find the perfect terroir for delicate varietals. The grapes benefit from the cold maritime breezes of the nearby Atlantic Ocean, which slow down ripening and allow the Pinot Noir grapes to develop intense, complex flavor profiles while retaining vital natural acidity.
