The name historically derives from 'Clos', reflecting its ancient boundaries. Because of its elevated position and stony, marl-rich soils, this vineyard escapes the heavier, broader style of lower-slope Meursaults, yielding a Chardonnay of exceptional tension, purity, and crystalline minerality.
