Cantine Nicosia’s Fondo Filara line celebrates the rich biodiversity and unique terroirs of Sicily through certified organic viticulture. The Insolia grape, one of Sicily's most ancient indigenous white varieties, thrives in the sun-drenched vineyards where cooling maritime breezes preserve its vibrant acidity. Historically valued as a key component in Marsala production, modern estates like Nicosia have championed Insolia as a monovarietal still wine to showcase its elegant, aromatic character. This organic expression is vinified entirely in stainless steel tanks to maintain its pristine fruit profile, offering a sensory journey through Sicily's coastal hillsides with notes of white flowers, citrus, and a distinct saline minerality derived from the island's rich soils.

Founded in 1898 by Francesco Nicosia, Cantine Nicosia is a historic family-owned winery located in Trecastagni on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy. Today, under the stewardship of Carmelo Nicosia and his sons, the estate champions sustainable and organic viticulture across its high-altitude volcanic vineyards, particularly on the ancient Monte Gorna crater. The winery is highly renowned for its expressive Etna DOC wines crafted from indigenous varieties like Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, as well as its elegant Sosta Tre Santi Metodo Classico sparkling wines.
