The 'Clones' bottling from Channing Daughters is a fascinating liquid study in viticultural diversity, celebrating the distinct personalities of various Chardonnay clones planted across their estate vineyards in Bridgehampton, Long Island. By blending different clonal selections—which can include Dijon clones, Clone 4, and the aromatic Chardonnay Musqué—winemaker Christopher Tracy crafts a white wine of immense complexity and texture. The maritime climate of the South Fork, characterized by cool ocean breezes and well-draining Bridgehampton silt loam soils, allows these clones to ripen slowly and retain vibrant acidity. Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in a combination of stainless steel and neutral French oak, this wine captures the salty sea air, crisp orchard fruit, and subtle mineral depth unique to the East End's terroir.

Channing Daughters Winery blev grundlagt af Walter Channing, som plantede de første vinstokke i 1982 i Bridgehampton på Long Islands South Fork.
