Meditazione is Channing Daughters' pioneering tribute to the skin-contact 'vini da meditazione' of Friuli and Slovenia, crafted in the maritime terroir of Bridgehampton, Long Island. Winemaker Christopher Tracy co-ferments a diverse array of white varieties on their skins for weeks, extracting deep amber hues, complex tannins, and an exotic aromatic profile. Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in older oak casks, this amber wine bridges the gap between white and red, offering notes of dried apricot, tea leaves, honeyed citrus, and baking spice. It represents a landmark in East Coast winemaking, showcasing how Long Island's unique glacial soils and ocean breezes can yield wines of profound texture and intellectual depth.

Founded by Walter Channing with initial vineyard plantings dating back to 1982 in Bridgehampton on Long Island's South Fork, Channing Daughters Winery stands as one of New York's most inventive and boundary-pushing artisanal producers. Guided by partner and winemaker Christopher Tracy alongside partner Larry Perrine, the estate champions low-intervention, sustainable viticulture across its distinctive maritime terroir. The winery is celebrated for its remarkably diverse and adventurous portfolio encompassing more than two dozen grape varieties, ranging from skin-contact orange wines like Meditazione and complex field blends like Mosaico to expressive single-vineyard expressions such as L'Enfant Sauvage Chardonnay and Scuttlehole Chardonnay.
