Channing Daughters' Rosso Fresco is a vibrant, joyful expression of Long Island's maritime terroir, crafted to celebrate the brighter, fresher side of red wine. Translating to 'fresh red,' this cuvée is intentionally made in an approachable, fruit-forward style. Winemaker Christopher Tracy utilizes a diverse palette of grape varieties grown on the South Fork, combining traditional Bordeaux grapes with cool-climate European varieties. The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel and neutral oak barrels to preserve its lively primary fruit aromas and crisp acidity, avoiding the heavy oak influence often found in regional reds. It represents the winery's philosophy of seasonal, food-friendly, and low-intervention winemaking, offering a playful yet structurally sound red that can even be enjoyed with a light chill.
