Sylvanus Vineyard, planted in 1999 on the South Fork of Long Island, is named after the Roman god of forests and fields, reflecting Channing Daughters' deep connection to their maritime land. This estate vineyard features Bridgehampton silt loam soils and is heavily influenced by the cooling breezes of the Atlantic Ocean and the Peconic Bay. Blaufränkisch thrives in this cool-climate maritime terroir, yielding a wine of distinct character. Channing Daughters crafts this red with traditional, low-intervention methods, including wild yeast fermentation and aging in seasoned oak casks. The resulting wine is celebrated for its vibrant acidity, savory spice, and bright forest-berry fruit profile, capturing a unique sense of place on the East End.

Founded by Walter Channing with initial vineyard plantings dating back to 1982 in Bridgehampton on Long Island's South Fork, Channing Daughters Winery stands as one of New York's most inventive and boundary-pushing artisanal producers.
