This incredibly rare bottling of Green Chartreuse (Verte) dates back to the mid-1960s, specifically the 1965–1967 period, and was bottled for the Dutch market under the historic importer Gruno. Distilled at the Voiron distillery in France by the Carthusian Monks, this expression represents a legendary era of liqueur production. While the recipe remains a closely guarded monastic secret involving 130 botanicals macerated in grape-based alcohol, the magic of this bottle lies in its extensive bottle aging. Over more than half a century, the fiery 55% ABV and intense medicinal punch of the young spirit have integrated beautifully, evolving into a silky, complex elixir. It reveals deep layers of anise, mint, candied citrus peel, rosemary, and warm baking spices, underpinned by a subtle, earthy sweetness that only decades in glass can bestow.
