Hailing from the northernmost appellation of the Côte de Nuits, the Marsannay 'En Auvonne' from Château de Marsannay is a classic expression of Burgundian Pinot Noir. The 'En Auvonne' climat is situated on a terroir characterized by a mix of clay, limestone, and fine gravelly scree. This soil composition, combined with the cooler microclimate of northern Burgundy, imparts a bright acidity, fresh red-berry profile, and a subtle earthy minerality to the wine. Château de Marsannay vinifies this parcel using traditional methods, utilizing French oak cask aging to gently round out the tannins while preserving the vibrant, energetic fruit character that defines the Marsannay appellation.
