Hailing from one of Burgundy's most cheekily named vineyards, the 'En Montre Cul' (literally translating to 'show bottom') lieu-dit sits on a steep, south-facing hillside just south of Dijon. Local folklore attributes its provocative name to the steepness of the slope; historically, as workers labored in the vineyards, those standing at the bottom of the hill were treated to an unintended view. Despite the humorous legend, this terroir is highly regarded, featuring limestone-rich soils that yield a remarkably elegant Pinot Noir. Château de Marsannay vinifies this parcel with traditional Burgundian precision, utilizing gentle extraction and aging in French oak to craft a red wine that balances bright red berry fruit with subtle earthy undertones and fine-grained tannins.
