This historic cuvée stems from the prestigious Vigne de l'Hôpital de Dijon, a collection of ancient vineyards bequeathed to the city's hospital system dating back to the foundations laid by Duke Eudes III of Burgundy in 1204. Today, these legendary parcels are meticulously managed and vinified by Château de Marsannay. The Cuvée Chevalier Martin pays homage to the historical benefactors of the hospital. Grown on the classic clay-limestone soils of the region, this Pinot Noir undergoes traditional Burgundian vinification, including careful sorting, temperature-controlled fermentation, and aging in French oak casks. The resulting wine is a beautiful expression of Côte de Nuits terroir, balancing bright red berry fruits, earthy complexity, and elegant, structured tannins.
