Hailing from the prestigious Côte de Beaune, the Pommard 'Clos de la Platière' is a distinguished red Burgundy that showcases the robust and structured side of Pinot Noir. The vineyard of Clos de la Platière is situated on a gentle slope with soils rich in iron, clay, and limestone, which contribute to the wine's deep color, firm tannic structure, and intense aromatic profile. Château de Meursault vinifies this parcel with meticulous care, employing traditional temperature-controlled fermentation and aging the wine in French oak casks (with a carefully selected proportion of new oak) in their historic 12th-century cellars. This process coaxes out classic Pommard characteristics: dark wild berries, earthy forest floor, and subtle spice, balanced by a vibrant acidity that reflects its exceptional terroir.

With origins tracing back to the eleventh century and historical cellars excavated beneath its sprawling estate, Château de Meursault represents one of the largest and most storied domaines in the Côte de Beaune. Acquired in 2012 by Olivier Halley and managed by Stéphane Follin-Arbelet, the estate spans roughly 65 hectares over more than one hundred distinct parcels across Aloxe-Corton, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Beaune, Volnay, Pommard, Meursault, and Puligny-Montrachet. Viticulture is strictly organic, achieving full certification across its climats with the 2022 vintage. Terroirs feature varied Jurassic limestone and clay marls on east- and southeast-facing slopes, farmed with an emphasis on biodiversity and living soils. Vinification balances Burgundian tradition with cutting-edge, low-carbon geothermal infrastructure, employing optical berry sorting, precise temperature-regulated fermentation, and measured French oak maturation. The domaine's benchmark whites include the flagship monopole Clos du Château, Premier Cru Charmes, and Premier Cru Perrières, accompanied by elegant Côte de Beaune reds and rare bottlings like Pinot Beurot.
