The Marienburg Fahrlay Terrassen is a breathtaking testament to the extreme viticulture of the Mosel. Sourced from the 'Fahrlay' parcel within the grand Pündericher Marienburg vineyard, this wine is defined by its unique terroir of hard blue slate, a soil type renowned for imparting a distinctively salty, intensely mineral character to Riesling. The 'Terrassen' designation refers to the incredibly steep, monumental stone terraces where ancient, often ungrafted vines find their footing. The Marienburg itself carries rich historical significance, named after a former convent that once overlooked the river bend. Under the biodynamic stewardship of Clemens Busch, these historic terraces are farmed with meticulous manual labor. In the cellar, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation in traditional oak Fuder casks, followed by extended contact with the lees. The resulting wine is a masterclass in tension, balancing vibrant acidity with a deep, smoky complexity and a crystalline, saline finish that speaks directly of the blue slate cliffs.

Weingut Clemens Busch ligger i den maleriske landsby Pünderich på de dramatiske skråninger i Tysklands Mittelmosel. Vingården er blevet drevet af Clemens og Rita Busch, siden de overtog den historiske familieejendom i 1980’erne. De regnes som pionerer inden for økologisk og biodynamisk vindyrkning i regionen, og vinhuset er dedikeret til en naturlig tilgang med minimal intervention, der værner om økosystemet. Omdrejningspunktet for deres arbejde er den legendariske, sydvendte skråning Pündericher Marienburg, hvor forskellige parceller med både grå, rød og blå skifer vinificeres separat for at fremhæve det reneste terroirudtryk. Clemens Busch høster international anerkendelse for sine dybe, teksturerede og mineraldrevne tørre Riesling-vine – særligt deres Grosses Gewächs-aftapninger som Fahrlay, Falkenlay og Rothenpfad – suppleret af udsøgte ædelsøde vine og mousserende fortolkninger.
