The Falkenlay parcel is a historic, south-facing crown jewel within the steep Pündericher Marienburg vineyard. Its name translates to 'Falcon's Rock'—'Lay' being the old Celtic-derived Mosel word for slate—paying homage to the falcons that have long nested in the sheer stone cliffs towering above the river. Dominated by soft, weathered grey slate soils, this unique microclimate is protected from cold winds, allowing the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness. Clemens Busch coaxes incredible depth from this site using biodynamic viticulture, spontaneous fermentation in ancient oak Fuder casks, and prolonged contact with the yeast. The resulting Grosses Gewächs (GG) is a masterclass in dry Mosel Riesling, celebrated for its rich, velvety texture, herbal complexity, and a profound, smoky, saline minerality.
