The second iteration in Compass Box's provocative 'No Name' series, this limited-edition blended malt Scotch whisky is a masterclass in peat's quieter, more elegant nuances. While its predecessor was a peat powerhouse, No Name No. 2 shifts the spotlight toward a sophisticated, smoky-sweet interplay. Built around a significant portion of mature single malt from the Caol Ila distillery on Islay, it is seamlessly blended with the coastal, peppery kick of Talisker and the waxy, fruit-forward elegance of Clynelish, finished with a touch of a toasted French oak-aged Highland malt blend. The result is a beautifully balanced, multi-layered dram that whispers of campfire smoke, sea spray, and delicate orchard fruits, showcasing the blender's art of finding harmony in contrasting elements.
