Named after the address of Compass Box's Edinburgh offices, the Great King Street Artists Blend is a poetic homage to the golden age of late 19th-century Scotch blending. During this era, blended whiskies were celebrated for their immense character, flavor, and artistry, before industrialization shifted the market toward lighter, more generic profiles. To recapture this lost grandeur, Compass Box crafted this expression with an exceptionally high proportion of single malt whiskies—typically over 50%—sourced from celebrated Highland distilleries like Clynelish. This rich malt backbone is seamlessly married with delicate single grain whisky from Cameronbridge. The maturation process utilizes a sophisticated wood regime, including first-fill American oak Bourbon barrels, toasted new French oak, and sherry casks, resulting in a wonderfully creamy, aromatic spirit bursting with notes of fresh apple, vanilla, and soft baking spices.
