Concha y Toro's Frontera range is named in honor of Chile's extraordinary natural boundaries—the Atacama Desert, the Andes Mountains, the Pacific Ocean, and the southern glaciers—which form a protective frontier for its vineyards. Crafted primarily from grapes grown in the fertile soils of Chile's Central Valley, Frontera Merlot is designed to showcase the pure, vibrant fruit character of the region. The Mediterranean climate, characterized by warm, sunny days and cool nights influenced by breezes from the Andes, allows the Merlot grapes to ripen slowly and fully. To preserve its fresh, approachable style, the wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, resulting in a smooth, medium-bodied red with soft tannins and rich flavors of red plums and spices.
