CVNE's Corona Semidulce is a legendary name in the history of Rioja white wines. Founded in 1879 in Haro's famous Barrio de la Estación, Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE) created Corona as a tribute to Spanish heritage, and it became one of the country's most historic sweet styles. Traditionally crafted primarily from Viura with a small blending portion of Malvasía de Rioja, the grapes are sourced from the cool, Atlantic-influenced clay-limestone vineyards of Rioja Alta. The fermentation is carefully arrested to preserve a delicate balance of natural residual sweetness. This results in a wine that beautifully marries bright, refreshing acidity with luscious notes of stone fruits, wild honey, and white flowers, echoing the historic off-dry whites that once graced royal Spanish cellars.

Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE) blev grundlagt i 1879 af brødrene Raimundo og Eusebio Real de Asúa og er et af Riojas mest prestigefyldte og historiske vinhuse, med base i det ikoniske Barrio de la Estación i Haro. Vingården drives den dag i dag af grundlæggernes efterkommere, som forener klassiske vinfremstillingstraditioner med nytænkende innovation på tværs af husets forskellige ejendomme og kældre. CVNE er berømt for at skabe verdensklasse, lagringsdygtige vine med fokus på elegance, struktur og balance, hvor Tempranillo og andre lokale Rioja-druer spiller hovedrollen.
