Established in 1928 by Italian immigrants Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli, De Bortoli Wines has evolved from modest Riverina beginnings into one of Australia's historic multi-regional, family-owned wine dynasties. Headquartered in Bilbul near Griffith, New South Wales, the estate's ancestral base occupies the warm, semi-arid Riverina plains, characterized by fertile red-brown earth and clay soils fed by Murrumbidgee irrigation schemes.
