Delas Frères 'Chante-Perdrix' is a classic expression of the rugged and steep Cornas appellation in the Northern Rhône. The name 'Chante-Perdrix', translating to 'singing partridge', pays homage to the wild partridges that seek refuge on the sun-baked, south-facing granite terraces of this historic region. Grown on steep slopes of decomposed granite, known locally as 'chaillot', the Syrah grapes benefit from intense heat retention, yielding a wine of immense power and structure. Delas crafts this cuvée using traditional fermentation followed by careful aging in oak barrels, resulting in a deeply colored, robust red that beautifully balances dark fruit, savory olive tapenade, and cracked black pepper notes with a stony minerality.
