✨ Technical Specifications

Delas's Hermitage 'Domaine des Tourettes'—formerly known as 'Marquise de la Tourette'—is a majestic expression of the legendary Hermitage hill in the Northern Rhône. This cuvée is a masterclass in blending, sourcing Syrah grapes from the historic climats of Les Bessards, L'Ermite, and Le Sabot. According to local lore, the hill of Hermitage owes its name to the 13th-century crusader knight, Henri Gaspard de Sterimberg, who returned wounded from the Albigensian Crusade and sought solace as a hermit atop this granite mound, planting vines that would define the region. The wine is traditionally vinified in open concrete tanks before undergoing aging in French oak barrels for 14 to 16 months. The result is a powerful, deeply structured red that beautifully balances intense dark fruit, cracked black pepper, and smoky mineral complexity derived from the steep, sun-drenched granite terraces.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1835 by Charles Audibert and Philippe Delas, Maison Delas Frères is an iconic Rhône Valley estate headquartered in Tain-l'Hermitage. Now part of the Champagne Louis Roederer family of estates, the house underwent a major quality renaissance through modern cellar innovations and meticulous vineyard stewardship across both the Northern and Southern Rhône. Delas manages prestigious parcels across heralded appellations including Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Renowned for its precision winemaking, the estate crafts deeply expressive, terroir-driven wines, from powerful, mineral-tinged Syrahs like Les Bessards and La Landonne to aromatic, textural Viogniers like Clos Boucher.
