Situated on the sheer, dizzying slopes of the Cte Brune, the La Landonne vineyard is characterized by its iron-rich schist soils and extreme steepness, requiring arduous manual labor to cultivate. According to local lore, the Cte-Rtie slopes were divided as a dowry by the medieval lord Maugiron to his daughtersone blonde and one brunettegiving rise to the Cte Blonde and Cte Brune, with the latter yielding darker, more powerful, and structured wines. Delas's expression of La Landonne is renowned for its intense concentration, deep dark fruit profile, and complex notes of tapenade, leather, and smoky minerality, achieved through meticulous plot-by-plot vinification and extended aging in French oak barrels.
