This special release represents a striking collaboration between the historic Champagne house of Dom Pérignon and the German contemporary artist Michael Riedel. Released to celebrate the transformation that occurs during the wine's long maturation, Riedel's limited-edition packaging uses a deconstructed, optical pattern of the letters 'D' and 'P' to mirror the passage of time. Inside the bottle is Dom Pérignon's legendary Rosé, a dramatic tribute to Pinot Noir. Crafting this cuvée is a daring balancing act: it requires blending a significant portion of still red Pinot Noir sourced from the legendary Grand Cru vineyards of Bouzy and Aÿ with Chardonnay and white Pinot Noir. The wine is then aged in the deep chalk cellars of Épernay for over a decade, emerging as a complex masterpiece defined by notes of wild strawberries, smoky minerality, copper-toned structure, and a velvety, tension-filled finish.
🍾 wine.about_producer
Named after the legendary 17th-century Benedictine monk who pioneered winemaking techniques at the Abbey of Hautvillers, Dom Pérignon is a world-renowned prestige Champagne house based in Épernay, France. Now owned by Moët & Chandon, the house is defined by its uncompromising commitment to vintage-only releases, meaning each bottling is crafted exclusively from the harvest of a single exceptional year. Composed of a harmonious blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the wines undergo a minimum of eight years of cellar aging on the lees to develop their signature complexity, tension, and silky texture. The iconic Dom Pérignon Brut stands as the benchmark of this meticulous philosophy, celebrated globally for its precise minerality, vibrant acidity, and profound aging potential.
