Marsannay is the northernmost appellation of the Côte de Nuits, often referred to as the 'Golden Gate' to the Côte d'Or. Domaine Bruno Clair was founded in 1979 by Bruno Clair, carrying forward the illustrious winemaking legacy of his grandfather, Joseph Clair, who established the famed Domaine Clair-Daü in 1919. Headquartered in Marsannay-la-Côte at the northern tip of the Côte de Nuits, the estate expanded significantly in the 1980s through the reintegration of prime family holdings across prestigious Burgundy appellations.
