The Marsannay Rosé from Domaine Bruno Clair holds a legendary status in Burgundy, deeply intertwined with the history of the Clair family. In 1919, Bruno's grandfather, Joseph Clair, created this serious, Pinot Noir-based rosé to help revitalize the village of Marsannay-la-Côte following the devastation of World War I and phylloxera. This innovation eventually led to Marsannay becoming the only village-level appellation in Burgundy authorized to produce rosé. Crafted with the same meticulous care as the estate's grandest reds, this wine is produced using a combination of direct pressing and the saignée method, followed by fermentation and aging in stainless steel and foudres. The result is a gastronomic rosé of exceptional depth, characterized by vibrant wild strawberry, redcurrant, and chalky mineral complexity derived from the region's limestone-rich soils.
