Domaine de la Romanée-Conti represents the pinnacle of Burgundian viticulture. While the origins of its namesake vineyard trace back to the Priory of Saint-Vivant in 1232 and Prince Louis François de Bourbon-Conti in 1760, the modern estate was consolidated in 1869 by Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet. Today, it remains jointly stewarded by the de Villaine and Leroy/Roch families. Situated in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, the estate commands peerless Grand Cru climats anchored in Jurassic limestone and iron-rich clay-limestone scree, enjoying ideal east-facing slopes and well-drained mesoclimates. DRC adheres to meticulous biodynamic and organic viticulture, utilizing heritage massal selections, plowing with horses, and practicing minimal-intervention winemaking.
