Domaine de la Romanée-Conti's Échezeaux Grand Cru is a masterclass in Pinot Noir, sourced primarily from the historic climats of 'Les Poulaillères' and 'Clos St-Denis' within the Flagey-Échezeaux appellation. The history of this vineyard dates back to the 12th century when the monks of the Abbey of Cîteaux first cultivated these soils. DRC's holdings are farmed biodynamically, producing a wine that is traditionally the most accessible and forward of the estate's legendary Grand Crus. Fermented with whole clusters and aged in 100% new French oak, it offers a breathtaking tapestry of dark cherries, forest floor, exotic spices, and fine-grained tannins, reflecting the complex clay-limestone soils of its terroir.
