✨ Technical Specifications

Cultivated on alluvial terraces along the Barbanne river with soils composed of clay, gravel, and an iron-rich subsoil (crasse de fer), this cuvée reflects traditional Right Bank Libournais architecture. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled concrete vats to preserve fresh fruit purity, followed by maturation in French oak barriques to polish structure and integrate subtle wood spice.

🍾 About the Producer

Domaine des Mimosas is a boutique Right Bank estate nestled in the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation, operated under the umbrella of SCEA Vignobles Niarfeix et Fils alongside sister property Château Chêne Liège. Covering roughly four hectares bordering the Barbanne river—directly facing the Pomerol boundary—the vineyards thrive on quaternary alluvial terraces composed of clay and gravel layered over a substratum rich in crasse de fer (iron pan), quartz, and flint. Viticulture emphasizes balanced canopy management and traditional Right Bank varietal selections, dominated by Merlot (approximately 79%) supported by Cabernet Franc (21%). Vinified in temperature-controlled concrete vats and aged in fine French oak barriques, the estate's flagship Lalande-de-Pomerol rouge exemplifies classic Libournais typicity. The resulting wines are renowned for their aromatic lift of violets and wild blackberries, supple tannins, balanced mid-palate density, and an authentic mineral-tinged finish that drinks graciously in its youth while cellaring reliably for over a decade.
