Domaine Zind Humbrecht's classic Gewurztraminer is a masterful expression of Alsace's most flamboyant grape variety. Sourced from biodynamically farmed vineyards around Turckheim, where warm gravelly and silt-rich soils allow the grape to achieve optimal phenolic ripeness, this wine is crafted with minimal intervention. The Humbrecht family's history in Alsace dates back to 1620, and their dedication to slow, indigenous yeast fermentations in traditional large oak foudres preserves the grape's intense aromatic complexity. Historically, Gewurztraminer—meaning 'spicy Traminer'—has been celebrated in Alsace for centuries, thriving under the dry, sunny rain shadow of the Vosges Mountains. Domaine Zind Humbrecht blev grundlagt i 1959 ved en sammenlægning af to traditionsrige alsaciske vinfamilier, hvis vinbønder-rødder strækker sig helt tilbage til 1620. Ejendommen har hjemme i Turckheim i hjertet af Alsace og opnåede international stjernestatus under ledelse af Léonard Humbrecht og sidenhen sønnen Olivier Humbrecht, der blev Frankrigs første Master of Wine. Vingården er en sand pioner inden for økologisk og biodynamisk vindyrkning og skaber kompromisløst terroirprægede hvidvine med minimal indgriben fra legendariske Grand Cru- og lieu-dit-marker som Rangen de Thann, Clos Windsbuhl og Hengst.
