Typically best enjoyed 5 to 15 years from the vintage, though outstanding years can easily cellar for 20 years or more as they develop complex petrol, honeyed, and tertiary mineral notes.

Hailing from the legendary, steep slopes of the Mosel valley, the Dr. Loosen Graacher Domprobst Riesling GG represents the pinnacle of dry German Riesling. The vineyard name 'Domprobst' (Cathedral Provost) pays homage to the historical 18th-century ecclesiastical estate of the Cathedral of Trier, which once claimed the tithes of this exceptional site. Situated on deep, water-rich blue Devonian slate soils, this Grand Cru (Grosse Lage) vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate protected from harsh winds. Ernst Loosen crafts this Grosses Gewächs (GG) using traditional methods, fermenting with indigenous yeasts in historic, neutral oak Fuder casks and allowing the wine to rest on its fine lees. The result is a dry Riesling of immense structural complexity, marked by a signature flinty minerality, wild herbal notes, and a vibrant, crystalline acidity that beautifully balances its rich, textured palate.

The historic Dr. Loosen estate, located in Bernkastel-Kues in the Mosel region of Germany, has been in the same family for over two centuries. Since taking ownership in 1988, Ernst Loosen has propelled the winery to international acclaim by focusing on the estate's extraordinary heritage of ungrafted, old Riesling vines—some over 120 years old—situated in historic grand cru sites such as Erdener Pr$lat, $rziger W$rzgarten, and Bernkasteler Lay. The winery's philosophy centers on minimalist winemaking and a deep respect for the region's diverse slate soils, which yield intensely mineral-driven, expressive wines. Dr. Loosen is globally renowned for its precise, elegant Rieslings, spanning from dry (Trocken) styles to exquisitely concentrated sweet expressions like Auslese, Beerenauslese, and rare Eisweins.
