Crafted by the legendary Dr. Ernst Loosen, this exquisite sweet white wine originates from the iconic Wehlener Sonnenuhr (the 'sundial of Wehlen') vineyard in the heart of Germany's Mosel region. The vineyard gets its name from the historic sundial erected in 1842 by Jodocus Prüm. Planted on precipitously steep slopes of pure blue Devonian slate, the ungrafted, ancient Riesling vines yield fruit of extraordinary minerality and tension. The 'Goldkapsel' (Gold Capsule) designation signifies an ultra-selective harvest of botrytis-affected grapes, representing a richer, more concentrated expression than a standard Auslese.
