Proyecto Las Compuertas is a passionate initiative by Hector and Pablo Durigutti to protect and revive the historic viticultural heritage of Las Compuertas in Luján de Cuyo, an ancient winegrowing cradle threatened by urban encroachment. The 'Cinco Suelos' (Five Soils) Malbec is a brilliant exploration of terroir, crafted from five distinct soil profiles—ranging from sandy loam and clay to stony, calcareous deposits—found within their historic estate vineyard. By fermenting and aging the grapes in concrete vats using native yeasts and minimal intervention, the Durigutti brothers capture a remarkably pure, vibrant, and mineral-driven expression of Malbec that pays homage to the traditional farming legacy of Mendoza.

Founded in 2002 by brothers and winemakers Héctor and Pablo Durigutti, Durigutti Family Winemakers is rooted in the historic terroir of Las Compuertas in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. Guided by a philosophy of minimal intervention and deep respect for agricultural heritage, the estate crafts terroir-driven wines using native yeasts, gentle extraction, and maturation vessels such as concrete eggs.
