E. Guigal's Côtes du Rhône Blanc is a masterclass in blending that punches far above its weight class, reflecting the family's deep historical connection to the Rhône Valley. While most white wines from the southern Rhône rely heavily on Grenache Blanc or Clairette, Guigal revolutionized this regional classic by making Viognier the star of the blend. This choice pays homage to their northern roots in Ampuis and Condrieu, where they famously rescued the near-extinct Viognier grape in the mid-20th century. By sourcing grapes from both northern and southern growers and utilizing temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for fermentation and aging, Guigal crafts a white wine of remarkable consistency, aromatic intensity, and rich texture that captures the sun-drenched spirit of the Rhône.

Domaine E. Guigal blev grundlagt i 1946 af Étienne Guigal i den historiske landsby Ampuis og hører i dag til blandt de mest prestigefyldte og toneangivende vinhuse i Frankrigs Rhône-dal. Familiens stolte arv blev løftet til nye højder under Marcel Guigal og sønnen Philippe, hvilket blandt andet afspejles i den omhyggelige restaurering af renæssanceslottet Château d'Ampuis samt et kompromisløst fokus på langvarig fadlagring med eget bødkeri på ejendommen. Guigal er verdenskendt for at definere kvalitetsstandarden for vinavl i det nordlige Rhône og har opnået legendarisk status med sine uforlignelige Syrah-vine – herunder de ikoniske enkeltmarksvine fra Côte-Rôtie kendt som 'La-La-La-erne' (La Mouline, La Landonne og La Turque) – såvel som overdådige og aromatiske Viognier-vine som Condrieu La Doriane.
