Condrieu 'La Doriane' is a legendary expression of the Viognier grape, crafted from some of the finest, steepest terraced parcels in the northern Rhône, including the historic Côte Chatillon and Volan. First released in 1994, this cuvée represents the pinnacle of Guigal's white winemaking. The vines cling to granite-rich soils on dizzying slopes that require entirely manual cultivation. To build its signature opulent texture and complex aromatic profile, Guigal ferments and ages La Doriane entirely in 100% new French oak barrels for approximately 12 months, incorporating regular lees stirring. The result is a wine of breathtaking intensity, marrying exotic notes of white peach, apricot, and honeysuckle with a subtle, toasted brioche character and a surprisingly fresh, mineral-driven finish.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in the ancient village of Ampuis, Domaine E. Guigal has become one of the Rhône Valley's most illustrious and influential wine estates. Now managed by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, the family is headquartered at the historic Château d'Ampuis, where they craft legendary wines that define the northern and southern Rhône. The estate is globally renowned for its iconic Côte-Rôtie single-vineyard bottlings—La Mouline, La Turque, and La Landonne—as well as the opulent Condrieu La Doriane. Their uncompromising production philosophy emphasizes extremely long barrel aging in their custom, in-house cooperage, resulting in wines of extraordinary depth, structure, and longevity.
